Bar & Bat Mitzvah Venues in Washington, DC

Fully Private Venue Buyouts for Mitzvah Celebrations - Dupont Circle & Downtown

A Bar or Bat Mitzvah happens once, so your celebration deserves a space that feels truly special. Our mitzvah celebrations are hosted as fully private venue buyouts, meaning the entire venue belongs to your family and guests on your special day. No public crowd or shared space, just your celebration in one of three of DC’s most striking event spaces: Saint Yves in Dupont Circle, Abigail, or Strand downtown.

Each venue offers 5,000 square feet of flexible space for dining, dancing, speeches, and the hora, with an in-house events team that manages catering, bar service for the adults, entertainment, and décor from your first call through the last dance.

Why a Private Buyout Works for a Mitzvah

  • Completely private — the venue is closed to the public for your event; your family controls the guest list, the music, and the schedule

  • Built for a party — professional sound and lighting systems, open floor plans with room for a proper hora and an all-ages dance floor, and dramatic interiors that need little added décor

  • Flexible timing — daytime, afternoon, and evening buyouts are available, including Saturday-evening celebrations after Havdalah and Sunday events

  • Adults and kids both taken care of — bar service is provided for adults [confirm exact alcohol policy wording for events with minors], with mocktail and soft-drink packages, kid-friendly menus, and space for games, photo booths, and entertainers

  • Central and convenient — all three venues are Metro-accessible and minutes from Northwest DC, Chevy Chase, Bethesda, and the synagogues of the Connecticut Avenue corridor

How to Book

  1. Submit an inquiry with your date (and backup dates), estimated guest count, and preferred venue

  2. Tour the venues and talk through layouts, timing, and packages with our events team

  3. Customize the celebration — menu, bar, entertainment, décor, and run-of-show

  4. Secure your date with a signed agreement and deposit

A note on timing: mitzvah dates are set far in advance, and DC-area venues for popular Saturday nights and Sundays book 9–18 months out. Once your date is confirmed with your synagogue, we recommend securing the venue as one of your first planning steps.
